ABOUT

In 2022, Mallidi Vashishtha's Bimbisara, a fantasy action film, stars Catherine Tresa, Prakash Raj, Samyukta Menon and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. It was built by N.T. R Art. The story follows Bimbisara, the ruler of the Trigarta Kingdom from the 5th century BCE, as he travels back to the present day.

Principal photography of the film began in 2020 and ended in November 2021, with delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The budget of the film was around 40 crores and a major part of it was shot in a studio in Hyderabad. MM Keeravani, who also composed the music for the film, composed the songs and worked with producer and actor, Chirantan. Bimbisar released on 5 August 2022 was a hit at the box office.

In 500 BC, a group of soldiers chased a man and his companion through a forest. When both tried to run away, they fell into the sinkhole. Then strange mirrors appeared and pulled the soldiers into them. The man managed to break one of these panes and escape, freeing a demon.

The demon offers the traveler a mirror, which allows him to travel through time. However, in the present, Ketu and Ravinder attempt to open Bimbi Sara's treasure with the help of a magician. Unfortunately, the latter is killed when he touches the door to the treasure. His son, Subramanya, becomes an acclaimed doctor, fulfilling his father's wishes.

Bimbisara, the ruler of the Trigartal kingdom, is a ruthless and powerful king who uses his iron fist to rule. He has received various gifts such as Sanjivani, which can revive the dead. He plans to conquer the kingdom of Asmak, and he will do so by killing its king and imprisoning its princess, Ira.

Bimbisara collects the mirror from a cave, keeps it in his bedroom, and occasionally attacks a pious community that goes against his orders. He also obtains a medicine book from the villagers, and he kills a priest and a girl who were allegedly predicting his downfall. His reign ended after he was pushed into a mirror by his brother Devadatta.
